Focus
This one day workshop is structured as a seven phase model for the development and delivery of workshops, training and teaching sessions. During the course of the day, participants will be actively introduced to a range of techniques and approaches commonly used by Trainers and Teachers in higher education: the model will also be compared directly to the outcomes-based approach of curriculum development most academics now use.
The workshop focus is on ‘what works in practice and why’ when running face-to-face training and teaching sessions. Throughout the day, the model and the activities and approaches put forward for consideration will be linked to learning theory. Participants will be encouraged to share their own experiences and reflect on the activities during the course of the day. The aim is that participants end the day feeling more confident to design training sessions and able to select from a wider range of techniques and approaches. It should also be fun!
